Riccardo Tisci a su créer un ensemble fait à partir d'un tissu très over the top girly avec de la brillance à n'en plus finir, et en ressortir un ensemble à la "Silver Peplum" très classe.

Montreal is a small city.. but the talent you can find IN Montreal is BIG!!! you only have to look in the right direction. And Being in a world where im always around talented people i had the chance to discover some great artists from our great city : Montreal.

And how did I discover them?

with STATION16

Simon my roommate showed me this website a few weeks ago. I stayed on the site longer than I had imagined. And I quickly realized that one of the collaborator happens to be a friend of mine, the artist WhatIsAdam, from the Montreal scene. And after a few questions, he explained to me the idea behind Station16.

Juan Carlos Z: What is Station16?

(WhatIsAdam): Station 16 is a creative print shop, that works with artists to create original limited edition silk-screen prints in house, using the best techniques and most experienced people in printing. We also have an online store where we can then promote and sell these artists prints (signed and numbered).

JCZ: How did everything started?

WhatIsAdam: Station 16 was an existing print-shop, working with companies such as : le Chateaux, Crooks & Castles, and Reebok in textile printing for garments and clothing. In 2011 we began working with artists such as WHATISADAM, ALAN GANEV & ANTOINE TAVAGLIONE, to create silk-screen prints on paper. The online store launched in January 2012.

JCZ : What does Montreal have and other cities don't?

WhatIsAdam: I think that the street art & graffiti movement is very present here, but not advertised as much as elsewhere. But being a city of many festivals, i think we have a great chance of educating and enriching people more quickly here, it just needs to be done right.

JCZ : What is Montreal missing then?

WhatIsAdam: Montreal is missing exposure, more government interest in the arts, and the kind of art shows that excite and educate people.

JCZ: Where and how do you get your inspiration for your work?

WhatIsAdam: My inspiration comes from creating posters for the street. I also grew up with comic books, so when it came time to create street art, old advertising ads and old comic book covers help form my style.

JCZ: Who is the latest member of the Station16 team?

WhatIsAdam: Station 16 has been working very closely with LABRONA, a fantastic MTL graffiti artist that has been painting trains and doing street art all over the world for close to 15 years now. More recently we launched EnMasse's (Mtl mural collective) first silkscreen print, we are very excited to be working with them. In November 2011 they were invited to the Montreal Museum of fine art to take part in a great show called "Big Bang", were they painted the walls of a large room in the museum.

JCZ: Where do you see Station16 in 3 years from now?

WhatIsAdam: Station 16 aims to work with as many artists as possible, in all styles, and eventually put together a show of its collaborations. We also hope to educate the public in art and print collecting.

JCZ: Is it easier to get girls when you have that talent like you and all the crew from Station16?

WhatIsAdam: lol. Unfortunately, it is a long and exhausting job to create the work that comes out of Station16 and we don't get a lot of time to party, but when we do we usually find that all we ever talk about is art, so no... we don't have an easy time getting girls either…

JCZ: Do you think the city is to hard with artist? Or do you think they're getting more open about this?

WhatIsAdam:. I think that if the city and government were more involved in the art scene, then Montreal would soon become a go to city like L.A. and New York for the art world.

JCZ: Where do you like to party?

Après tout le temps d'attente, la Fashion Week de Montréal est déjà finie! Si vite, mais il y a eu plusieurs belles présentations d'oeuvres d'art.

Ce que j'ai remarqué en visionnant les défilés est que la jupe plissée ne fera pas seulement partie des tendances printemps-été, mais aussi de celles automne/hiver. Comme c'était les collections pour F/W 2012, il y avait beaucoup de noir, mais aussi la palette de couleurs chaudes telles que rouge et orange était présente telles que les franges.

J'aimerais vous partager les défilés que j'ai préférés - LOVE IT;

Pour la catégorie des vêtements que je considère prêt à porter dès aujourd'hui dans la société de tous les jours, mon coup de coeur est le défilé de Ève Gravel;

Pour le défilé avec les statements pieces, mon préféré a été DUY;

PS: AMAZING les trois robes à la fin!!

Pour mon blog de cette semaine, je me suis inspirée d'un évènement qui se passe en ce moment à Montréal et c'est... l'Igloofest! J'étais là samedi passé et c'est un great time. Des milliers de jeunes qui sont là pour avoir du fun et lâcher son fou. Ce qui est le plus drôle est de voir le monde qui s'habille avec les snow suits les plus flamboyants.

Personnellement, j'étais une de ces personnes; un beau one-piece violet pastel, lustré, avec des épaulettes et une belle boucle de ceinture bedazzled. Dans le métro, je me suis fait regarder de haut en bas, je ne pouvais pas arrêter de rire. Si vous n'avez pas encore eu le chance d'y aller, c'est le dernier week-end cette semaine, du 26 au 28. Alors, allez à la friperie la plus proche pour vous trouver le one-piece le plus weird et allez partyer à l'igloofest!

Et comme on est sur le sujet des one-pieces, je me suis dit que je pourrais vous montrer que cette tendance sera toujours là cet été. Alors, voici quelques exemples de différents détaillants et marques pour vous donner des idées...

Hey guys happy snowless Wednesday! I don't know about you there's not enough white outside...

Anyway, I feel like trying something new and instead of talking about new cameras, I feel more like talking about the person behind the camera (i.e. the photographer... yes yes...)

After scuffing through the interweb, i found a rather interesting montreal photographer called Yanick Déry

He's a well known fashion photographer. His work has been seen in many magasines not only in Montreal but also in China, New York and Paris. I really like his style and the way that he can make the model look so natural in a the shoot.

Having taken pictures for many many fashion and clothing companies he is a well recognized in the montreal photography scene.

I find it kind of disappointing that the montreal photo/fashion scene is not more "out there". Montreal's got talent but we seem to be overshadowed by something... That's also why i decided to talk about The Montrealers of art and creation.

Whoa... I'm going to simmer down before I start a manifest about it ... Anyway, let me know if it's a good idea because i'm really looking forward to gather up info about the montreal "underground" fashion photo scene.

Non, je ne m'imagine pas déjà en été, don't worry, mais dans le monde de la mode, on y est presque. Tout change tellement vite! Hey y'all... i'm back after a little hiatus.

Now that i'm back let's get back into business!

Ever had that one picture that you loved but it was slightly out of focus?... I know that happened to me all the times and it's specially frustrating when you can't retake the picture...grrr!

Well what if i told you you never had to focus again? That no matter how you take the picture it will always be the perfect exposure ? Well technology is getting more and more advanced and now we can!

With the Lytro Camera

This camera uses a technology called Light Field wich you can basically do your focusing after your shot has been taken! I'm not going to ramble about the tech ill le you see for your selfs

As a simple demonstration, try clicking on the background then try clicking on the subject...

Imagine all the possibilites that you could do in post production after a photoshoot!

- L'Art du Cirque by Safewalls -

Ce soir, il y avait une super exposition à la Galerie Yves Laroche sur St-Laurent par l'équipe de Safewalls.

En gros, celle-ci a créée un projet d'art avec le Cirque du Soleil. Que veut dire "SAFE WALLS" et quel est son lien avec le Cirque? Le nom représente les murs sur lesquels il est légal que les graffiteurs présentent leur art. Le Cirque rentre en compte au niveau de l'inspiration des toiles. Plusieurs artistes internationaux ont été approchés pour créer des pièces uniques.

À la galerie, l'ambiance était amicale, la pièce était remplie de passionnés et d'artistes. Ce que j'ai aimé des toiles, c'est qu'elles semblent nous raconter une histoire qui sort de l'univers imaginaire.

Si vous aimeriez acheter une des toiles, il est certain que celles-ci sont dispendieuses, mais on a la possibilité d'acheter des impressions pour un prix raisonnable sur le site.

Je connais Aleks personnellement et elle est très sympathique. À chaque fois que je suis avec elle, je ris aux larmes. Il y a 2 ans, je suis tombée en amour avec les gâteaux recouverts de fondant. J’ai donc suivi un cours spécialisé, puis continué à faire des gâteaux pour ma famille et mes amis. Une nouvelle passion est née ! Le bouche à oreille à vite fait de remplir mon carnet de commande. Les demandes devenaient de plus en plus nombreuses et c’est donc en mars 2010 que j’ai fondé mon entreprise « Holy Moly Cakes ».

« Holy Moly Cakes » sont des créations de gâteaux et cupcakes personnalisés pour des fêtes, célébrations et mariages. Ma mission est que chacun de mes gâteaux soit unique et personnalisé à l’image de mes clients. Chez « Holy Moly Cakes » ; c’est de l’art que l’on peut manger…

Mes plus gros défis ont été la réalisation d’un wagon CN et d’un requin à la mâchoire ensanglantée. Wow, quel challenge !

Ce qui me stimule le plus est l’étape de création. Un fois le produit fini, il n’y a rien de plus satisfaisant que de voir le sourire sur le visage de mes clients lors de la livraison. C’est un moment magique et tellement gratifiant!

Lomokino

Hey guys today i'm going to talk about a new camera that came out from the Lomographic society last week.

As a big analog fan, I always wondered how a motion picture would work on a film camera. I tried it with a super 8 camera but unfortunately it's very complicated to get your hands on some super 8 film. Even worse getting it developed is insanely expensive. That's where the LomoKino makes it's apparence.

It's basically a film camera that takes 35mm film and divides one picture frame into 4 so you basically end up with 144 frames on a regular 36 exposure film.

It shoots about 30 seconds of film and the picture quality looks like an old super 8 film. I'm really looking forward to buy it and play with it. The videos and really made with it really look cool. Take a look at this one.

Cette semaine, ma coloc m'a fait découvrir une designer, mais surtout une artiste; Julia Kaldy. En faisant des recherches pour ses cours de design de l'environnement, elle est tombée sur ces chaussures. Ceux-ci ne sont pas seulement de simples souliers, mais bien des formes, des découpes, des empiècements...
Cette jeune femme a une vision très unique et grâce à son talent de vrais oeuvres d'art pour les pieds sont créées.

Wow! Je vais commencer mon post en vous partageant que j'adore l'automne surtout quand nous avons de belles journées comme aujourd'hui! Grâce à ce beau soleil, j'ai pu faire ma tournée des boutiques de la rue st-denis et st-laurent dimanche! Pour ceux et celles que ça fait un petit bout que vous avez magasiner, je peux vous affirmer que les collections offertes pour cet automne sont A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Ce sont les détails qui font le morceau! De plus, il y a déjà pleins de soldes!

Aussi, il y avait plusieurs activités qui se passaient comme le dimanche des tam-tams au parc mont-royal!

Aussi, j'ai eu la chance d'aller voir la magie des lanternes au jardin botanique! Wow!

À Montréal, there's a lot to do, alors, profitez des activités pendant que c'est encore le temps parce que la neige arrive assez vite.... Au Nouveau-Brunswick, ils ont reçu leur première tombée dimanche!

First off an app that's called Stylebook.

Stylebook lets you take photos of your own clothing, organize it by categories, and then help you build outfits, make packing lists, and build custom super funky collages.

Ideal when you just get a clothing mixing idea and want to show and tell or just ask for some advice.

Next, have you ever regretted not buying an item and seeing somebody else with it and just gets frustrating? Regrets no more with the Love It or Love It app.

With this app you can basically have fashion advisers in your pocket. Pick up Love It or Lose It, which allows you to upload a photo to dispatch out to your friends and a community of users who'll weigh in on your potential purchase.

Next is Chictopia

Chictopia : the app is made by the ever so addictive website with the same name. With the app you can snoop around for as long as your battery doesn't die off. Last off i found this great little app that can get you sales and rebates just by playing with your phone. GoldRun allows you to track down, interact with and collect virtual objects placed all around your city and share them with your friends on Facebook. The more stuff you grab the more rewards you earn. That sounds like a super idea but unfortunately there is not a lot of activity in Montreal but i'm pretty sure it'll get here soon.

Assise au premier rang pendant 10 minutes (ils ont placé une fille devant moi une blonde qui bougeait un peu trop...je n'ai pas pu prendre des photos) j'ai eu le temps de comtempler la Galerie.''Dans une ambiance intimiste et éclectique'' comme écrit dans l'invitation, ils ont tenu leur parole. Le local était parfait pour la collection que Joseph Morgan et Shane Bérubé ont présenté.

Some may not have know that last month we had the World Press Photo exhibition 2011 in montreal.

Unfortunately i don't think it had sufficient media coverage because most of my fellow photophiles did not know until the exhibition was over... Sadly i did not have the chance to go this year but i shovelled myself into the depth of the interweb to find the best pictures that was presented

In total the event presented over 5000 photographers from 124 different nationalities with the total of 108 059 pictures.

Basically, the World Press Photo is World Press Photo is an independent, non-profit organization. Founded in 1955 the organization is known for holding the world's largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest.

After the contest, the prizewinning photographs are assembled into a traveling exhibition that is visited by over a million people in 40 countries. A yearbook presenting all prizewinning entries is published annually in six languages.

In addition to selecting the World Press Photo of the Year, the contest determines winners in the following categories:

Spot News
General News
People in the News
Sports Action
Sports Features
Contemporary Issues
Daily Life
Portraits
Arts and Entertainment
Nature.

Another primary objective of the organization is to support professional press photography on a wide international scale, to stimulate developments in photojournalism, encourage the transfer of knowledge, help develop high professional standards in photojournalism and promote a free and unrestricted exchange of information.

Unfortunately, i can't post any pictures because i don't want to be sued ....

But one of the best pictures i found was one taken by Amit Sha'al where he take picture that looks like an old picture and returns to the same location it has been taken and superimposes it directly on the same background. I can't really explain it well so i'm going to let you see it for yourself on his personal website.

Anyhow the World Press Photo Exhibition is a real fun experience to have a glimpse of the life outside our own most often unknown. It is a touring exhibition and is right now in Japan but it will come back in Toronto october 5^th to the 26^th. So if ever your there be sure to go!

Selon moi, c'est très réussi, comme à l'habitude. Côté fashion, je trouve qu'il y a un mélange de la tendance colorblocking et des années 90's à la Degrassi. En regardant ce vidéo, il m'est venu en tête tous les vêtements que j'ai vu autant dans des magazines, dans les magasins que dans les publicités qui font partis de la tendance colorblocking Noir&Blanc.

Hey Boys & Girls! How y'all doing today?

Today i really felt like talking about a video clip that fell in love. You all have probably watched the flashing lights video by Kanye West... But not many people know that he had 3 different version for the very same song. The first and "Official" is the one with the super sexy babe in slow motion and theres another one that looks like a musical version of the game clue or one of those Murder Mysteries clichés. The one i want to talk about is the second one. Apparently this particular version was not supposed to be released but somehow got "Leaked" on the web. At first people thought is was a viral video, but it was later confirmed to be a authentic version made by K. West.

So, basically the video tells the story of a woman who partys hard but a little too hard...

But the true beauty of this video it that it has been entirely produced in stop-frame animation.

The sort of videos that are made from many many pictures... and thats what made me fall in love with it.

The second thing that made me fall in love with it is the model in the video. Charlotte Carter-Allen fits in really well with the atmosphere and is really photogenic.

I wont say to much because i really dont want to spoil the fun and beauty of the video.

After looking through out the interweb i found that i was produced by Bill Pullock. Not that much is known about him but you can tell that he has a great tallent in still stop motion photography.

J'étais en plein ménage ce w-e et j'ai remarqué que j'ai une collection de cartes d'affaires de toute sorte! Cupcakes, Vêtements vintage, Vêtements de cuir, Restaurants, Accessoires... C'est fou combien on peut en collectionner! Alors, j'ai décidé de faire de ce ménage et découverte, un post! Cet hiver je me suis achetée des boucles d'oreilles de la compagnie This ILK. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas ces bijoux, ce sont de

vrais oeuvres d'art!

Fait intéressant; La créatrice Tamara Bavdek a voulu avoir une petite métamorphose au niveau de son look. Alors, elle a coupé ses cheveux courts! Elle a commencé à créer des boucles d'oreilles de grands formats et très féminines. De là, sa compagnie a vu le jour!

J'ai décidé de vous présenter surtout les pièces de la collection haute couture, car je trouves qu'elles sont "magnifico"!! Mais, il y a aussi des pièces plus petites et moins extravagantes pour celles qui préfèrent la simplicité.

Ce collier est ma pièce coup de coeur!

Les pièces présentées font parties de la collection Spring-Summer 2011. La collection d'Automne ne semble pas être disponible.

Cette paire de bloucles d'oreilles fait partie de la collection Vintage - Limited Edition.

Hey guys today I'm going to talk about an artist that i always loved for his techniques and his unique way of composing his photos. His name is Li Wei and he is considered one of the best "Action" photographer. It's pretty tough to explain what is an action photographer. Wikipedia describes him as "mixture of performing arts and photography that creates illusions of a sometimes dangerous reality".

This picture is the first photo i saw and i was just amazed. And i know what you are thinking; it's Photoshopped. Well... No! The photos are taken on the real location (Top of a building on this one) and the subjects are actually present and all... The subject that is falling is actually held by wires (So no he did not fall to his death!) and the thin wires are then Photoshopped in post-production.

What made me fall in love with his special style is the intricate way of the position of the subject. How they look so natural as if the artist captured an impossible moment that could happen only in the movies.

They look so natural and casual. This particular picture has a nice mix of the background and the subjects. I love the fact that she looks like she is standing on his leg, it ads a touch of uniqueness that you cannot find easily elsewhere.

Anyhow I'll stop talking about him with my weird uncomprehending explanations. You guys can go on his website and make an idea of your own.

Ce w-e, je suis allée faire mon tour des magasins avec ma coloc, et nous sommes rentrées dans cette très moderne et jeune boutique l'Éditorial. J'en avais déjà entendu parler, mais je croyais que c'était une boutique qui vendait seulement des articles recherchés de 200$ et plus. Eh bien NON! Tout est super beau, il y a de très belles marques telles que Oneteaspoon et Unif, et les prix sont très abordables (je dirais qu'ils ont un prix moyen de 75$). J'avoue que le style des vêtements est très edgy avec une pincée de "comfy - lazy day" parce que l'on retrouve beaucoup de t-shirts, tricots et vêtements très grands... Dans l'fond, c'est ce qui est très trendy en ce moment.

Aujourd'hui, j'y suis retournée, car ils avaient organisé un petit cocktail très relax pour présenter la collection d'Automne de Oneteaspoon.....

Voici Jo avec un super manteau de Unif qui représente bien la tendance de la fourrure, surtout celle du mouton et lainage, qui revient. Joanna est repartie de la boutique avec deux nouvelles paires de .....JEFFREY CAMPBELL heels. Est-ce que j'ai besoin de dire que j'étais; J-E-A-L-O-U-S!!

Cette boutique vaut vraiment le détour, alors la prochaine fois que vous êtes sur st-cath, allez-y et je peux vous assurez que vous trouverez au moins un petit quelque chose!

Hello guys this is my first post with the super Fierconistas bloggers.

For my first post i decided to talk about something pretty popular in Asia for a long time but just made its popular appearance about 2 years ago. Everybody has 3 or 4 usb keys laying around somewhere. Its pretty frustrating carrying them around in your bag and, even worse loosing them when you need print out that important document! Almost everybody experienced that!
Well what it i told you that now usb key can be worn. Take a look at this :

It appears to be a normal ordinary nice necklace. But open it up and:

Yup, its also a usb key! It's pretty fun to see tech gadgets getting introduced into fashion. Even Swarovski made some. Unfortunately, after a couple of hours of searching, i couldn't find any retailers in Montreal. But they can easily be found on the net. From what i saw, they retail from about 15 to 60 dollars depending on the quality and the usb key size. Anyway, is this coming to stay? I sincerely don't know if it'll catch on like in Asia. But lets face it, it's a great idea!

It almost makes me want to start my own tech jewelry line!

En fin de semaine, j'étais au centre commercial de st-jérôme et j'ai, pour la première fois, appris et vu la collection de Denis Gagnon pour Lancôme. Son lancement c'est fait mi-août et les prix sont très abordables. Les boîtiés sont très artistiques à l'image du Designer. C'est le temps à nos designers de chez-nous de briller et de se faire offrir les partenariats.

Pour finir, j'aimerais vous présenter et connaître vos commentaires à propos de ce vidéo du nouveau groupe Super Heavy composé de Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, Damian Marley et AR Rahman. Celle que je vous présente est Miracle Worker, un mélange de soul et reggae.

Je sais je suis un peu en retard en parlant de By Thomas mais je voulais vraiment en parler aujourd'hui

Premièrement, j'aimerais féliciter By Thomas et Christian l'enfant Roi d'avoir choisi un emplacement très original.

Faire un défilé dans une maginfique église centenaire est vraiment un bon coup de marketing.

Ils ont misé sur une direction artistique originale et tout en étant simple

musique classique pour by thomas et avec une chanteuse d'opéra pour Christian l'enfant roi

J'aurais aimé voir plus de pièces par by thomas mais je crois qu'elle a bien fait en montrant que quelques looks pour que les gens puisent poser un regard sur les détails, coupes et surtout les sacs

J'aime beaucoup sa collection et je pense qu'elle devrait continuer et partir à l'extérieur du Canada

Bref, voici les 2 looks que je veux sans hésiter une seule fois
